At DFT Academy we believe...one-on-one training is more beneficial to our students.  In any group class, an instructor's attention is necessarily divided among the number of participants. This subjects students with reduced supervision, minimal safety, and questionable form and alignment. By contrast, a personal training session ensures that you have one hundred percent of your instructor's attention.

Your instructor will personalize your training to equip you with the skills you need to meet the situation you are training for.

At DFT Academy we believe...that women and children have the right to get the highest quality training without compromise, without intimidation, without judgment. DFT Academy Instructors are patient, kind, respectful, and nonjudgmental. Our goal is to teach you basic firearm safety, gun range etiquette, how to hold and shoot a firearm ( handguns, shotguns, and rifles), and training on firearm use in a non-intimidating environment.  

DFT Academy offers Basic Firearm Training that is oriented towards the female shooter. Our courses are designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling of firearms, grip, stance, sight alignment/picture, trigger squeeze and release technique, loading and unloading as well as understanding and clearing malfunctions.  Depending on which course you take. All students will receive the Basics of Handgun, Shotgun, or Rife shooting handbook and a Course completion certificate.  Our handgun course also meets the training requirements to submit an application for an Idaho Concealed Weapons Permit.    

DFT Academy Instructors are Military, Law Enforcement, and NRA-certified firearm Instructors with years of experience in all three, handgun, shotgun, and rifle. They have real-life experience in close-quarters combat, long-range shooting, tactical shotgun, self and home protection. 

DFT Academy also offers Hunter Education Safety Classes. Hunting is one of the oldest and most important practices in human history. Before it was primarily a sport, it was a way of life. Today, hunting serves many different roles—a challenging recreational activity, a connection to our heritage, a continued food source, a way of immersing ourselves in nature, and many more. Hunting benefits our economy, provides funding for conservation and wildlife management, contributes to promoting a healthier lifestyle, has charitable characteristics, and directly connects us with life on our planet.
