Description:

This class is for all individuals regardless of

previous shooting experience. Students receive direct instruction from a Certified instructor from

beginning to end.

Fee: $275

Description:

This course consists of instruction in the following areas: firearms safety and handling, sportsmanship

and ethics, wildlife management and conservation,  wildlife identification, game

care, first aid, and survival. After a student successfully completes the course and passes the final

examination, they are awarded a Certificate of Completion. The Traditional Course allows for individual

interaction with the instructor. The Traditional Course is most often preferred by first-time hunters.

Summary:

Students discuss the predator’s mindset and the importance of mental and physical preparedness inside

and outside the home. Students are taught strategies that can be integrated into their everyday lives to

avoid falling victim to a crime.

Description:

The DFT Academy Personal Awareness Seminar covers topics that best suit the needs of women.

This is not a firearms instruction course and does not include instruction in physical combat self-

defense.

Topics covered:

• Reality: Your mindset versus your predator’s mindset.

• Mental Preparedness to help keep you out of danger.

• Physical Security at home, on the road, when traveling, at work, and more.

• Self-Defense Physical Training: What is a Sheepdog?

• Personal Protection Devices

Fee: $65

For our students who want to improve their ability to draw firearms in various settings and applications.

Topics will include: 

* Holster Considerations 

* Best Practices 

* How to draw from concealed safely  

* Drawing while:

e. From the ground

Summary:

Students are taught the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition in the home. This is a non-shooting course.

Description:

Students receive direct instruction from a Certified instructor from beginning to end.

Topics covered:

• How to take care of firearms in your home.

• The major causes of gun accidents.

• The three fundamental safe gun handling rules.

• How to apply safety rules when using or storing firearms and ammunition.

• Who is responsible for teaching firearm safety to children?

Fee: $ 50

For our students who want to help make the range safer for the groups they interact with or are thinking of one day becoming an instructor this is a great foundation.

Each RSO candidate will learn:

• roles and responsibilities of a Range Safety Officer.

• range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• range inspection.

• range rules.

• range briefings.

• emergency procedures.

• firearm stoppages and malfunctions.

Each RSO candidate will receive a Basic RSO Guide and a course evaluation form.

• Introduction to Defensive Shooting

  • Discuss the importance of developing the proper mindset for using a firearm for personal protection & facing & life-threatening encounters.
  • Discuss the four levels of awareness
  • Discuss the importance of mental preparation & physical training for a potentially life-threatening confrontation
• Basic Defensive Pistol Skills
  • Explain & demonstrate the fundamentals of defensive marksmanship

  • Shoot targets in the center of mass using aimed shots from a 2-handed standing position
  • Explain the differences between cover & concealment & identify examples of each

You will need to provide:

• A notebook
• A pen & highlighter
• Eye & ear protection
• A brimmed hat (optional but recommended)
• Your pistol (The NRA recommends a minimum of 9 mm for semi-auto or .38 Special for revolver.  But bring what you can shoot comfortably & reliably.)*
• Your Owner's Manual (if you have one)
• 200 Rounds of ammunition (minimum) *

  • Special safety considerations that must be observed when carrying or using a concealed pistol outside the home
  • The various techniques for storing a pistol safely outside the home
  • The 4 levels of awareness & how they apply to concealed carry outside the home.
• Introduction to Self-Defense & Concealed Carry
  • The importance of mental preparation & developing the proper mindset for carrying & using a pistol for personal protection & facing a life-threatening encounter outside the home
  • Techniques for avoiding life-threatening confrontations outside the home
  • The psychological & physiological changes that may occur during an attack
